*thigh high pirate boots*

looks like i’m extending my thigh high boots moment…hahaha! those type of boots are tough to rock during the daytime due to their *ahem* salacious reputation.  i love high boots for cold weather though.  how else can i still wear flouncy dresses but keep my legs warm when tights just won’t do?  what tones these bad boys down though is the fact they have wedge heels instead of sky high stiletto ones & the weird straps of leather wound all the way around…kind of like pirate boots.  so, i feel more plankwalker than streetwalker & more appropriate for daytime ^_^

*a new twist on the old cameo*

i’ve been obsessed with zombies since 2004…i even know the precise moment the terror set in.  lately however, everyone else seems to be getting in on the zombie act…just look at the popular walking dead TV series to even literature with pride & prejudice & zombies.  so, naturally, fashion would be next, right?  well then…lookee what sale i found going on right now (but not for much longer) on fab.com!  aren’t they fabulous?  creepily…eerily…hauntingly fabulous?  i’m not one of these goth type girls who would normally wear such things, but i love wearing skulls & crosses already, so why not?  who could resist a classic (or not so classic) cameo in pretty pink?  plus, i’ll wear it over my heart as a constant reminder (like i need to be reminded) to be vigilant…against the coming zombie apocalypse, must.always.be.vigilant!

*lazy hazy days of summer*

now that my burst of traveling is finally over (yet again), i can just hang about the house & lazily go about my usual weekday business. during my travels, i had taken up the old-fashioned activity of book reading…yes, books! hahaha! i’m constantly reading blogs from the google reader off of my phone, i almost forgot what it feels like to turn a paper page :) just kidding (but not really). hahaha! during my west coast trip, i finished off the girl with the dragon tattoo. it wasn’t that i was dying to read the book, but when the american version of the movie comes out in december, i wanted to make sure i knew the plot line as it sounded a bit convoluted from what others described.

two weeks in florida, i started this…my new late summer reading, so i gotta finish it up :) my IRL friends know that as much as i am obsessed about shoes and food trucks, my mind is constantly besieged with thoughts of the impending zombie apocalypse. do yourself a favor & don’t ask. trust me…you don’t want to get me started ^_^

last weekend, MDH & i took our usual road trip to visit his family in pennsylvania.  i can’t read in the car as it gives me mad headaches, so i found another activity to keep me occupied during the long ride. since a lot of my blogger buddies (& everyone else in universe) are rocking the friendship bracelets…which i totally did back in middle school (i feel soooo old)…i started knotting some new ones up! now i CAN’T stop. it’s so addicting! i really suck at it though. it took about 4 tries to find the correct knot tension & to NOT cut the strings too short :/ hopefully the next one i’m making will be acceptable to give away to a friend…because isn’t that the whole point? hahaha! probably whenever that eventually happens, summer will be totally over :(
