nothing like the change of seasons to have you looking forward to altering the color palette of your daily outfits.  hence, i’m loving browns, yellows & bright oranges to match the turning & falling leaves :)

for those of you astute readers who know the versace x h&m collection very well or have this skirt yourself, you’ll know that i’m wearing it backwards.  the pink design element was just “too” much in my opinion, competing with the florals on my sweater.  turned around though, it gave a playful “rear view” to an otherwise boring backside.  hahaha!

then, these prada heels i’ve loved forever.  i think they were my first pair of high end designer shoes.  one of my good girlfriends hates the shape & color, but don’t care!  i remember too back then thinking how fancy & high the heel was…bwahahaha!  nothing like the sky-high heels of today, right?

*black florals & yellow shoes*

i don’t know if it was the cloudy day or the light was odd the early afternoon that i took this picture, but the color cast seems to be a bit off & a tad overexposed.  i ended up liking the photo though.  in this weird “instagram-y” world we live in, it’s almost odd *not* to see a photo with some type of kooky filter applied to it.  am i right?

or, maybe i’ve been used to my pear tree behind me being so bare of leaves all winter that now the brilliant display of green is throwing off my camera…hahaha!  no matter, it’s spring & we welcome all the green & other super bright colors ^_^

*for the love of boston*

what can i say?  it’s been a very difficult week for boston & will continue to be for a long time.  my heart breaks for this city that i love so much.  aurora…tucson…newtown…us.  we’re now a part of the current landscape of national tragedies.  never thought it would happen.  however, to reiterate the sentiment, we’re boston, we’re strong, we’ll endure & we’ll heal.

*taupe, yellow & leopard for a sunday brunch*

picture heavy post with a lot of itsy bitsy outfit details…so let’s begin, shall we?  first of all, this dress, can i just gush?  i got it at the last clothing swap i attended…very small & very intimate.  the pleating detail on the neckline & sleeves is just divine.  plus the dress is heavy, so drapey, warm & cozy!  kind of perfect for a warm(ish) day & braving the boston weather with bare legs :)  PLUS IT HAS POCKETS!!!  what girl doesn’t love a dress with pockets?

image

this little crossbody yellow purse i also got at the same swap.  it’s teeny tiny!  i can literally fit only a few bills, some plastic & maybe a mini lipstick.  i can’t even squish my phone in it!  upon examining it, i found the quality & construction of the leather quite remarkable, especially for a swap item, so i googled the brand which you might have seen on twitter.  turns out, it seems to be a quality belgian brand (on par with hermes) & tiny wallets can go for over $400 while regular handbags can retail for $3000-4000!  pretty amazing swap find, huh?

image

this leopard coat i’ve had forever…like literally.  it’s from forever 21!  hahaha…get it?  like how i did that?  again, on this warmer day in boston, i can get away with wearing 3/4-length sleeves.

image

finally, these shoes i was amazed at the resemblance to the fendi shoes spring 2013, one of my favorite accessories lines of late…more in the color combo & the textured heel.  i’m sure i couldn’t afford the fendi shoes even if were available now, so this cute ankle strapped version suits me just fine!

whew!  that’s a lot of of outfit for a simple sunday brunch, but it was for my birthday blogger buddy, najeema, so totally worth it!

*neon, navy & neoprene*

putting some of my favorite trends together in a primary color kind of palette…although the neon kicks it up a notch!  i remember getting this neon yellow blouse several swaps ago (did you get your swap ticket yet?) & who knew then that neon would be such on the fashion forefront?  see, another reason why swaps are so great :)

*business up front…80’s party in the back!*

wearing: koan studded sweater (swapped) || wet seal lace skirt || target sunnies || DIY (painted) neon jewelry || ego & greed grey/neon wedges

can’t seem to shake my 2 loves these days.  number one…my need for neon.  it just never seems to get old.  that’s what happens when you grow up in the 80’s ^_^  number two…my affinity for shoes that contrast from front to back. for example, demure leather up front & then punked out spikes from behind :)

so, you can imagine my utter delight with this two-fer :)  got these beautiful wedges during the crazy mad solestruck black friday sale…half off!  i was lucky too.  i didn’t seem to experience server crashing problems like other good friends did that, even with their shoes in their shopping carts & being unable to check out, caused their lovely footwear to be sold out right before their eyes.  i love this color combo too of a nice dark, steely gray & this gorgeous true neon…not just a bright yellow.  my friends joke about me being a ninja (because of my kung fu background, even though it’s not the correct terminology as ninja is japanese & kung fu is chinese, but whatevs…hahaha!), so you may not see me coming, but you sure can’t miss me going!

*black & white floral with a touch of neon yellow*

lucky me! i missed most of the wet weather while i was in florida. there was only a bit of rain yesterday & today was dry, at least when *i* was out later in the day, so i wasn’t in hunter rain boots like every other girl i saw. this dress is an oldie but goodie. can’t go wrong with black & white floral with just a pop of color on this non-rainy day. but gawd…back to goofy smiles? really? really?

speaking of pop of color…these little kitten heels i’ve also had for-rev-ver! ironically, as evidenced by most of my shoewear on this blog, i favor a very (VERY) high platform wedge or chunky heel type shoe…at least 5-1/2 inches. i always joke that kitten heels are my nemesis or anti-heel. i hate them! yet, there’s still something about these steve maddens that i can’t seem to let go. is it the sweet yellow leather that always seems to still be appropriate every spring? the color borders on neon, so very on trend this season. or the adorable white piping & bow? these shoes just make me smile every time i see them. so cute & sweet & pretty. i’m such a hypocrite. anywho, i’m very excited for another boston blogger event tomorrow, a picnic in the common! gonna see the usual blogger suspects & hopefully make some new friends. crossing our fingers (toes, legs & eyes as well) for NO RAIN!
