*japanese silk jacket with thigh high boots*

the other day when i mentioned goofing around & taking pictures with renata after the sartorialist signing…this is what i meant :)  it’s always nice to have another blogger friend around to document your “outfit of the day”.

you can’t see them too well in these photos, but i’ve fallen back in love with these old thigh high boots.  i don’t know if my muscular kung fu thighs have slimmed down a bit or the leather has become more pliable over the years, but these boots have become much more wearable.  me & the thigh high platform boots…we’re having us a moment ^_^

also, what a happy happenstance the scrollwork of my long tunic (or very short dress…not sure) happened to match the swirls of the wellesley college auditorium carpet :)

wearing: century 21 black & white floral scroll bell sleeved tunic || vintage silk japanese haori || wet seal pleather leggings || rue la la leather bodega bag (via ebay) || the glamourai x shrimpton couture dharma neck plate || jeffrey campbell thigh high black suede boots

speaking of indian wedding…here is just a mere tiny sampling of the beautiful brocades, eye-catching embroidery, sumptuous silks & amazing arm parties that surrounded me that night!  i’ll just let the photos speak for themselves ^_^

*wedding in old montreal ~ the reception outfit*

the wedding ceremony was breathtaking! however now it’s time to par-tay!!! i’ve changed outfits for weddings since the late 90s. heck…i had 3 dress changes during my own! since my family is catholic, most weddings that i’ve attended, the ceremony has had to coincide with mass typically. so, i’ve gotten used to having to go to 2 p.m. or even 10 a.m. weddings & then wait around all day for the dinner reception. i just got used to changing into a new outfit since i had the time. i kept that going all these years :) plus, as much as i loved my ceremony dress…it really isn’t great for dancing. this rachel roy silk number with its full skirt is much more fun to twirl around & get DOWN in! oh and i twirled all right…i TWIRLED!

i use tag.loudly, so all you have to do is mouse over the photos to get outfit details. however, very quickly, this dress was a newbury street sample sale SCORE. rachel roy…pure silk, even the lining is silk, for $25??? beats even my missoni’s major discount :) i wanted to keep my original fascinator on, but i knew with dancing, it would probably fly off…so switched to this equally beautiful & fun to wear, black feather headpiece created by the talented amanda of red bird vintage. finally, this amaaaazing cabachon neckplate i had been waiting to wear since bringing it back from the philippines last november. i credit my dad for getting me this. it was originally 1500P (philippines pesos), but he was able to talk the vendor down to 900P & he bought me two! love my dad!!! he understands my love of unusual accessories :) i’ll do another post later on with details on the wedding & other fun outtakes ^_^
