*waves of blue*

missoni target sweater, blue, turquoise, navy

*whew*…i’ve been stuck in a color rut for a while…feeling uninspired & wearing mostly black lately, but managed to break through today :)  was getting kinda worried there, hahaha!

missoni target sweater, blue, turquoise, navy

i’m actually surprised i haven’t paired this sweater & skirt together before…the navy blues are a perfect match.  i love not only the print mix, but the texture mix of this sweater…sheer front panel, yet wavy, textured sleeves & back.  quite suitable for the weather transitions now…some thickness for warmth, yet diaphanous in hopes of spring ^_^

*my moon & stars*

navy outfit, stars print dress, stars print skirt, navy maxi skirt, denim jacket, guess jacket, navy shoes, navy sandals

if i could wear a navy satin ballgown skirt every single day of my life, i totally would!  even though i love the look of volume & fullness, alas, have to tone it down a bit for the daily activities of life.  although is a skirt covered completely in star print, *really* toning it down?  hahaha!

*mother of dragons*

navy, satin jacket, asian, oriental, silk jacket, dragons, far east, korea, japan, china

even before the whole game of thrones pandemic, i’ve always been obsessed with dragons.  i read a long time ago that dragon tattoos are a formidable good luck symbol, so i got my only one done before one of my early kung fu tournaments.  sure enough, won my first gold medals at that tournament :)  i’ve been a powerful believer ever since.

guess that’s why i love collecting these old school embroidered satin military bomber jackets.  they’re easy & chic to wear, goes with everything & always have either dragons (or tigers) all over them.  i have about 3 now & definitely always on my mental checklist when i go thrifting.  if dragons are good luck, doesn’t hurt to have more around now does it?  hahaha!  i’m sure daenerys stormborn wholeheartedly agrees :)

*my version of the seersucker suit*

i didn’t really *try* to make a seersucker suit.  i lived down in the southern part of the united states for a bit, but not that long…hahaha :)  i ended up pulling this jacket out of the closet by mistake at the same time when i grabbed another jacket.  it’s been sitting around & so i thought, well let me wear it while it’s out here :)

i’ve had this other skirt for eons, so, why not pair the two & go pinstripe/seersucker crazy?  may not look quite like what the old folks wear down south, but maybe my northern, girly, flirty interpretation of it ^_^

*navy, white, geometric print & stripes*

a bold geometric skirt with an eye-catching pop of neon.  an on-trend white jacket with a “cool” ladder detail in the back.  new platform wedges with stripes of varying colors & stripes.

even though i love every different detail about this outfit, my favorite by far are the shoes.  super cute, huh?  the perfect summer heels for frolicking about in the sun…and with a heatwave forecast of over 90 degrees predicted for boston today, summer has come quickly!  hahaha!

this is what i wore to attend the neiman marcus spring trends presentation the other day.  i thought it was the perfect opportunity to finally bring out this navy with white piping blazer that i got from the neiman marcus x target holiday collaboration….when it was 70% off ^_^

image

not *quite* warmer weather yet but decided to dress nice & spring-like between snowstorms while i had the chance :)  plus, i learned during the NM talk that blue is a popular color for spring, so hey, don’t i feel all kinds of smart!

*navy sheer & gold for an indian wedding*

wearing: see by chloe sheer dress ($5 filene’s basement GOOB score!) || h&m gold dress (swapped) || n.y.l.a gold/mesh ankle booties (similar)

oh wow…looksie!  a regular ol’ outfit post.  FINALLY!  hahaha!  it’s been a crazy month, so i’m grateful for this very lazy, yet still busy & fun 4-day thanksgiving holiday weekend.  MDH & i didn’t go to my in-laws in PA as we typically do for thanksgiving as we had our friends’ wedding to attend here in boston.  our friends are indian & i wish i had ended up getting a traditional sari to wear, but i was also happy with the appropriately festive & sufficiently gilded outfit i ended up putting together :)

accessories:  aldo outlet earrings || asos ankle cuffs || express gold coins belt (from high school!) || ebay acrylic clutch || vintage mink stole

*dilly dallying in daisy print*

it’s been hard getting back into the swing of things from being gone for a week, but getting there.  acupuncture & kung fu life always take precedence, so blogging tends to fall by the wayside, but slowly back on track with the whole outfit photo taking again :) speaking of being away, the daisies in my garden literally EXPLODED with blooms!  hence, they get to take center stage front & proper while i try to cope with this heat preppy style…in a clean sharp white shirt & pleated skirt ^_^

wearing:  swapped BCBG white blouse || jason wu x target daisy print skirt || thrifted enamel necklace || lela rose x payless navy wedges

*stars & spots forever*

here’s another odd print mixing combination…stars & big ass polka dots.  haaaanh?  well, the fourth of july is not quite around the corner just yet, so we’ll save the stripes for then…hahaha!  wearing a few swap items in honor of yet another fun clothing swap that is happening tomorrow night.  you got your tickets, right?  you are going, aren’t you?

wearing:  swapped polka dot blouse || custom made star print skirt (from bangkok) || swapped silver bracelet || melissa rubber egg wedges

*neon, navy & neoprene*

putting some of my favorite trends together in a primary color kind of palette…although the neon kicks it up a notch!  i remember getting this neon yellow blouse several swaps ago (did you get your swap ticket yet?) & who knew then that neon would be such on the fashion forefront?  see, another reason why swaps are so great :)
