nothing like the change of seasons to have you looking forward to altering the color palette of your daily outfits.  hence, i’m loving browns, yellows & bright oranges to match the turning & falling leaves :)

for those of you astute readers who know the versace x h&m collection very well or have this skirt yourself, you’ll know that i’m wearing it backwards.  the pink design element was just “too” much in my opinion, competing with the florals on my sweater.  turned around though, it gave a playful “rear view” to an otherwise boring backside.  hahaha!

then, these prada heels i’ve loved forever.  i think they were my first pair of high end designer shoes.  one of my good girlfriends hates the shape & color, but don’t care!  i remember too back then thinking how fancy & high the heel was…bwahahaha!  nothing like the sky-high heels of today, right?

*taupe, yellow & leopard for a sunday brunch*

image

picture heavy post with a lot of itsy bitsy outfit details…so let’s begin, shall we?  first of all, this dress, can i just gush?  i got it at the last clothing swap i attended…very small & very intimate.  the pleating detail on the neckline & sleeves is just divine.  plus the dress is heavy, so drapey, warm & cozy!  kind of perfect for a warm(ish) day & braving the boston weather with bare legs :)  PLUS IT HAS POCKETS!!!  what girl doesn’t love a dress with pockets?

image

this little crossbody yellow purse i also got at the same swap.  it’s teeny tiny!  i can literally fit only a few bills, some plastic & maybe a mini lipstick.  i can’t even squish my phone in it!  upon examining it, i found the quality & construction of the leather quite remarkable, especially for a swap item, so i googled the brand which you might have seen on twitter.  turns out, it seems to be a quality belgian brand (on par with hermes) & tiny wallets can go for over $400 while regular handbags can retail for $3000-4000!  pretty amazing swap find, huh?

image

this leopard coat i’ve had forever…like literally.  it’s from forever 21!  hahaha…get it?  like how i did that?  again, on this warmer day in boston, i can get away with wearing 3/4-length sleeves.

image

finally, these shoes i was amazed at the resemblance to the fendi shoes spring 2013, one of my favorite accessories lines of late…more in the color combo & the textured heel.  i’m sure i couldn’t afford the fendi shoes even if were available now, so this cute ankle strapped version suits me just fine!

whew!  that’s a lot of of outfit for a simple sunday brunch, but it was for my birthday blogger buddy, najeema, so totally worth it!

*lei ann…on duty ~ election day edition*

my friend & i live in the same town which doesn’t give out ‘i voted’ stickers like other towns :(  boo hoo…so she made us some :) *happy smiley face*  also, i wore this forever 21 leopard print coat when i voted 4 years ago & obama won.  i’m not superstitious, but heck, i wore it again…just in case.  no matter which candidate you’re for, no matter what issues are important to you, what matters is that you got out there & voted!  see ya’ll tomorrow when i’m sure we’ll all be suffering from election night results hangover, no matter who wins @.@  hahaha!

*still in love with safari*

it’s one thing to go all in with the safari look, however…not just leopard print, but actual leopards on the belt (and elephants too)??? well, it’s a dull & dreary monday…so let’s just pile it on, shall we?

*leopard…again?*

wearing:  swapped calvin klein sweater || leopard skirt from platinum mall (bangkok) || express belt || christian siriano for payless booties

i’ll admit…i didn’t jump full board on the leopard trend like everyone else did earlier this season.  not because i don’t like animal print, but to me, it’s an everlasting presence in the fashion landscape.  animal print never goes out of style…it endures.  that being said, i tend to have leopard always in my closet any way…just like other prints whose popularity fades & then resurfaces…polka dots, stripes, florals, paisley, brocade, neon, asian prints, etc., etc., etc.

speaking of other trends, it seems like everyone else is really into fun & funky nail art these days.  as someone who works with her hands, i can’t have clients distracted with super crazy colors & wild patterns.  *however* i find that when i can’t decide between 2 nail polishes, i don’t choose…i just use both!  you’d think that having different colors on your hands would also be distracting, but no one ever notices!  so, it’s great…i can feel like i’m doing something different, yet not have my patients blinded by a kaleidoscope ^_^

anywho, going to a baby shower this weekend & not much else.  looking forward to seeing friends, but also to relaxing & being a slug!

*snow survival*

sooooo…remember the other day when i mentioned pulling out my colorful dresses for the warmer weather?  uhhhh yeaaaaah…it snowed today.  hahaha!  nothing dreadful…in fact, more hype than flakes.  i even considered not going to my kung fu workout, thinking the commute would be dreadful.  pffffttt…not even.  gotta remember i’m a true new englander now & a weak weather system don’t scare me!

actually, the *only* thing that scared me was getting home in time before the snow/rain/sleet got really heavy so as not to get my lovely leopard print booties all wet & ruined.  now that would be a tragedy!

*lounging about longwood gardens*

Photobucket

happy holidays everyone!  are we ready for the coming new year, a mere few days away!  eeekkk!  as i’ve mentioned, i’m here in PA with my in-laws & spending lots of free time just eating, lounging & being in general holiday sloth mode…hahaha!  luckily, MDH & i were industrious enough to meet friends & other family yesterday & walk around longwood gardens…a beautiful expanse of land in the brandywine area.  there was a gorgeous conservatory that featured everything from bonsai to banana trees to humongous tree ferns to hibiscus the size of my head!  obviously, as a born & raised island girl, i was most happiest amongst the tropical flowers ^_^ we did walk the outside grounds for a bit (before it got too bitterly cold), but there was nothing much to see in the barren winter landscape.  i’d love to go back in the spring/summer & see the outdoor gardens in all its glory!

*sliding around NYC in my shoemint leopard print jollys*

i was in NYC recently for a super quick 19 hour trip.  had an event to attend & the next day was spent horsing around with my husband, our verrrrrrry good friend from way back when & a fun bronze slide!  nothing exciting to report regarding my outfit…just my shoes!  so, what else is new…hahaha!

since i was going to be hoofing it around the city, brought along my new (and extremely popular) shoes that other bloggers have…the shoemint leopard print jolly ankle booties!  no crazy high platform or stiletto heel here.  as much as i love my vertigo-inducing high heels, still have to walk around in comfort when the occasion arises….especially when the occasion calls for going down a whimsical & makes-you-happy-just-looking-at-it slide!  good thing too!  we slid down that slick surface so fast, i was virtually propelled & had i not had low wedge heels on, *for sure* i would have busted my ass on that astroturf!  hahaha!  good times…good times XD

*it’s beginning to look a lot like christmas*

not much to report on today, what can i say?  i never get on the TGIF bandwagon because i teach friday nights & i typically see clients on saturday (gotta make that cheddar), so my schedule ramps up versus slows down this time of the week.  wah wah…poor me.  oh well…enough of that whining :)

my downstairs neighbor did a great job decorating out front, so i wanted to showcase her efforts rather than my outfit which is so decidedly *not* very christmasy at all…hahaha!  gotten a little lazy with wearing the same belt & same shoes from the other day just cos they’re right there still.  decided to stick with the very neutral dark brown/camel palette with just the statement necklace & leopard print giving some kind of interest to the outfit.  even though it’s a blah day, i’m very excited for christmas coming up.  in fact, finished almost all of my holiday shopping (& then more for me) already.  only one last yankee swap gift to find.  then soon enough, it’ll be off to my in-laws’ place once again for more eating, drinking & overall relaxing!  CAN’T WAIT!

*i can haz red pants too!*

forgot to post this picture from montreal. dangit…i hate it when i get out of chronological order! i’m such a dork like that. anywho, this is what i wore when we met the bride, groom, friends & family for drinks at philemon bar the night before the wedding. i *finally* got me some red pants at the last swap (with a matching short-sleeved jacket as well)! even though i hate pants, i had to jump on the red pant bandwagon. these actually are high-waisted, fit me quite well, taper nicely at the ankles & are short enough that i didn’t have to hem! perfecto!!! that was a cool-ish night in montreal, so i was glad to have pants & a leather blouse (albeit off the shoulder) that kept me warm enough without having to resort to a coat to cover up my whole outfit. oh & this leopard muff too. that kept my hands warm ^_^
