*more asian floral…whatta surprise*

asian floral, floral blazer, necessary clothing jacket

well, we’re still not quite out of the winter woods yet with *another* snowstorm set to arrive in boston in a couple of days….grrrrrrr >:/  well, better wear my new spring-like blazer while the sun is still out :)

i can’t say i can even really call this top a blazer.  it’s cut like one, but no lining or shoulder pads, so it’s very flowy & easy to wear…like a kimono jacket.  it’s a nice balance of structure & ease.  i’ve already had a busy & hectic monday morning, so ease is what i need :)

*double the outerwear, double the fun*

double outerwear, cape, coat, medievel, faux fur, norwegian hearts

i was watching gladiator last night…or rather it was on TV while i was flitting about the house, doing stuff.  anywho…this image of maximus & lucilla really enraptured me.  so regal.  so stately.  so warm!   it reminded me of how jon snow in game of thrones looks with all his night’s watch layers as well.  fur would be a bit *much* for daily outerwear, so instead i threw this old cape on as an extra layer of warmth over my coat today to somewhat replicate the looks.  me likey a lot!  not only was i roasty toasty, but i felt i had a bit of that medieval swagger ^_^  hahaha!

*summer leather*

target, print, black, grey, white, high low dress, leather blazer, leather jacket, summer leather, rubber wedges, melissa, ombre hair

all this talk of summer leather couldn’t make me happier. i definitely fell into the trend full force years ago by OD’ing on leather shorts & harnesses & just continued to look for great pieces when i’m out thrifting. this jacket was one of my best finds yet…a boys leather blazer! perfectly tapered, hits me at the hips just right & look…sleeves that aren’t too long! with the weather being so unseasonably cool for august, i’m quite content to have this leather piece in constant rotation :)

*japanese silk jacket with thigh high boots*

the other day when i mentioned goofing around & taking pictures with renata after the sartorialist signing…this is what i meant :)  it’s always nice to have another blogger friend around to document your “outfit of the day”.

you can’t see them too well in these photos, but i’ve fallen back in love with these old thigh high boots.  i don’t know if my muscular kung fu thighs have slimmed down a bit or the leather has become more pliable over the years, but these boots have become much more wearable.  me & the thigh high platform boots…we’re having us a moment ^_^

also, what a happy happenstance the scrollwork of my long tunic (or very short dress…not sure) happened to match the swirls of the wellesley college auditorium carpet :)

*hot pink & a floral rain jacket*

most people complain when the sunny weather goes away for even a day.  i don’t mind so much.  i have a collection of light rain jackets & coats that if it weren’t for the dreary, haphazard springtime new england weather that we get here & there, these jackets would never see the light of day :)

accessories:  michael kors men’s rose gold watch || c|a|m dyed horsehair braided bracelet (via fab) || skeleton cameo pendant (via ebay)

especially this particular jacket from the rodarte x target collection that came out what feels like EONS ago now…hahaha!  i’m such a sucker for floral jackets though, i’ll most likely keep it around forever :)  in terms of these crazy high platforms, even i have to admit that my choice of shoewear for such a rainy day was odd, but still functional (surprisingly so).  with all the girlies out there in their hunter wellies, i tend to be the odd one out when i’d rather go the elevated route above the rain puddles.  works for me ^_^

*sporty spice*

i can’t say that i jump on every trend that is seen on the fashion landscape. peplums? on my hips? no way.  orange?  meh.  i could take it or leave it.  however, as an athletic girl, varsity jackets are something i can *definitely* get on board with :)

this jacket is a great thrift find.  it’s a boy’s jacket, so fits me precisely right.  the sleeves are the perfect length.  there are no annoying logos or letters on it.  contrasting sleeves, quilted leather, ribbed wrists & collar, neutral colors.  it’s the epitome of looking sporty, yet not like i’m going to the basketball/baseball/football game :)  sneaker wedges on my feet to go along with the sports theme & it’s a winning look ^_^

*military dress uniform*

got a serious case of goofy blogger face today.  sooooo, let’s just marvel at the marvelousness of my military jacket that i got in hong kong eons ago…which, let’s face it, doesn’t need to share the spotlight with the rest of my boring outfit…or my stupid face :p

*kimono kasual*

i loves me a kimono robe style jacket…easy, comfy, less restrictive than a blazer & just more fun!  it can look super chic (to the next lev) with a short sexy skirt for a night out (also handy for keeping you warm), but again to dress up an otherwise casz outfit.  i know i just said the other day i don’t do t-shirt & jeans, so *of course* what am i wearing today? hahaha…well, for some odd reason i don’t really count black jeans as “jeans” jeans…cos they’re black.  don’t even ask…it’s friday night & i’m tired & my brain’s all loopy & my neck is jacked up from doing my last lion dance & kung fu performance of what felt like an unusually long CNY season…hence the fuzzy logic & comfy outfit :) oh & hey looky what else…i got bangs ^_^

wearing:  h&m kimono jacket || h&m purple t-shirt || c/o kmart black skinny jeans || thrifted pink belt || pink glass pendant from a santorini, greece gift shop || red/gold murano ring from isabella gardner museum gift shop || michael kors rose gold watch || sam edelman zoe booties

*versace for h&m…the floral denim jacket*

i’ve already given you the blow-by-blow on my very first waiting-in-line-(not quite)-overnight-for-rock-concert-tickets-style adventure for the versace at h&m line.  i was lucky to come away from the melee with not only 3 items, but this particular denim jacket that was on the top of my must-have list.  i know the crazy asian-style floral isn’t for everyone, but i love the bright pops of color (look how it just mesmerizes my little doggie…hahaha!) plus the higher quality details like the metal capped collar tips & the cropped tight fit. it’s a cute jacket, but it’s definitely not a very thick type of denim…more like a very heavy cotton shirt.  lucky that the weather was so warm over the thanksgiving holiday (where i was in pennsylvania), i was able to wear it all weekend.  i’ll keep wearing it as long as the weather stays mild like this.  by now, you must have heard about the next h&m collab…another print-heavy favorite of mine…MARNI! sheesh, talk about fast fashion.  this jacket has barely come off the hanger & i’m already thinking about the next collection.  i don’t like where this is going…neither does my wallet @.@

*and it’s not the weather…hand me my leather*

can you tell i’m trying to squeeze in the wearing of all the trench coats/long jackets i have before the *warm* temperatures of spring really take hold? hahaha! as much as i really just want to throw on a dress & platform sandals and NO tights, i’m already mourning the storage of my favorite cooler weather items. my absolute most favorite is this cream leather jacket i’ve had for easily a decade! yup, it was one of my first won, most prized ebay scores. it had to have been custom made as there is no tag, no nothing. it’s the most supple, softest leather. i take such good care of it, there’s not a worn spot anywhere. everyone needs a basic leather jacket or coat, but the fact that it’s not your standard black leather, makes it even more special for me. yeah, it’s cool to be trinity & all, but i feel more awesome, like switch, when i wear it ^_^
