*wedding in the new york botanical gardens*
new york city is definitely one of those places i would not want to live, but i SURE do love to visit! MDH & i often make a few weekend or day trips a year for some reason or another…visiting friends, something fashion-related or some other kind of event, like for example a wedding, which is what we attended this past weekend.
now, i don’t have to remind you how HOT it has been the past few days. i was having a hard time dressing for this wedding as it was dependent on the temperature. i decided to go with this bebe ensemble…a very oldie, but still goodie…that i’ve worn to at least 3 other weddings in years past. fortunately, the ceremony was scheduled for the early evening & though was still muggy outside, i was able to survive even in a long skirt.
even with multiple arm parties going on & being covered with all that metal, i was able to remain cool in the humid weather by actually thinking ahead & bringing my own fan for sitting during the ceremony. i’m not one to buy matching jewelry sets usually, but isn’t this necklace & earring set beautiful? i think i’ve mentioned before that only recently i’ve been looking into the jewelry display cases at target where i usually walk right by them & have been pleasantly surprised by what i find there!
anywho, the wedding was a great time. although i have to admit there was one incident (if that) that perturbed me during the cocktail hour. i also like to photograph my food & a woman (whom i recognized as one of the bride’s family) chided me that i should be eating my food, not taking pictures of it. i don’t know why but i became so furious on the inside! i normally would have said something smart ass back, but since she was related to the bride, i bit my tongue & just let it go. that was my good deed for the day. cos you know me…normally i’da cut that bitch in half!
