the high end designers/target collaborations can be a funny thing. i’ve bought collections back pretty much in the beginning. behnaz sarafpour anyone? some pieces have not stood the test of time (proenza schouler) & others i still have to this day. today, phillip lim debuted at target & i was lucky enough to snag the one piece i really wanted…the boom sweater. i even ended up putting it on right away & wearing it out to the harbor cruise brunch i was invited to.
to be honest, i don’t go overboard (like that? see how i did that? hahaha) with these target collabs anymore. most of them have really simple staple pieces that get repetitive…don’t need yet another trench coat or cocktail dress, thanks. this piece is definitely one of the signature pieces though & that’s how i treat these collections…just get a few items that you really like because you don’t need everything. plus with my husband being the comic book expert that he is & my little forays into cosplay…how could i *not* get the superhero-inspired boom sweatshirt? hahaha!
