just as i was about to post today, i read the latest ifb article talking about sartorial regrets…ironically, as i’m wearing a galaxy print, high-low skirt, hahaha! so, forgive my longer post as i get a little more “op ed” instead of the typical short little quips about my OOTD.
in a word, no, i don’t have any sartorial regrets (well, very few anyway, hahaha). personal style blogging is tough. you see what every other little chickadee out there is wearing & you want it for yourself. i think the key though is you just have to stick with what your style is & not be swayed by everything else, otherwise you will end up with a lot of regrets in your closet. for example, what i’m wearing today screams short-lived trends…both galaxy print & the high-low skirt style, however still works in *my* daily life. i looove the high-low silhouette as i feel it flatters my short stature & body type which was why i always favored it, even before the trend blew up a couple years ago. that’s also why i never bought that origami zara skort. i would never wear such a supershort mini or shorts (outside of a beach or pool setting), so why would i get one just because everyone else was obsessed with it? know what i mean?
so, i think the main point, is (as always) if you stay true to your own personal style & not succumb to buying every popular article of clothing on the fashion blogs, then the less closet disappointments you will have. kind of a more serious tone for a mid-week post, but that’s what i love about being an ifb member…fashion is supposed to be fun, easy & breezy, but it’s still good to think seriously once in a while :)
